Line and character-level comparison with split and unified views. Everything runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded.
Each line is added, removed, changed or the same. On a changed line the characters that differ are marked too, so a single wrong letter is easy to find. That works up to about 5.2 million characters across both texts. Up to about 21 million the comparison is by line only. Above that the tool refuses the input.
The comparison runs in your browser. Share copies a link with both texts inside it, after the #, which your browser never sends to a server. Comparing JSON? The JSON diff compares the data rather than the lines, so key order and spacing do not count as changes.
